Cookie Policy

How I Use Cookies On This Website

This policy explains, in plain language, what cookies my website (yaycoaching.com) uses, why, and how you can manage them. It sits alongside my Privacy Policy (yaycoaching.com/privacy-policy), which covers how I look after your personal information more broadly. If anything here isn't clear, please just ask — [email protected]

1. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer or device when you visit my website. Cookies help the site run properly, remember your preferences, and give me a picture of how the site is used, so I can keep improving it and make your experience smoother.

The information cookies give me doesn't usually identify you personally. In some cases I may collect personal information — but only where you've chosen to give it to me directly, for example by filling in a form.

2. The Types of Cookies I Use

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site and booking pages to work properly, such as keeping you securely logged in to the Hub while you book a session or manage your membership. These can't be switched off, as the site won't function properly without them.

  • Analytics / performance cookies — let me see how many people visit the site and how they move around it, so I can understand what's working and improve the site over time.

  • Functionality cookies — remember choices you've made on the site, such as form progress, to make your visit smoother.

  • Targeting / advertising cookies — record your visit to the site, the pages you've viewed, and the links you've followed. I use this to make advertising you see from me more relevant to your interests.

Other than strictly necessary cookies, I need your consent to use these cookies on this website — you'll be asked when you first arrive on the site, and you can change your mind at any time (see section 5).

3. First and Third-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set directly by my website. Third-party cookies are set by other platforms whose tools or content appear on my site — for example, embedded videos, social media content, or advertising pixels. I use a number of third-party tools, including Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, the Hub, Zoom, YouTube, and Instagram, among others.

4. More Detail About the Cookies I Use

The table below gives more detail on the main cookies used on this site:

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first land on this site, you'll be asked to choose which non-essential cookies you're happy for me to use — you can accept all cookies, or accept only the strictly necessary ones. Non-essential cookies like Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel won't be set until you've made that choice.

If you'd like to change your mind later, you can clear your cookies in your browser and revisit the site to see the choice again, or adjust things directly through your browser settings.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Because strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to function, blocking these may mean parts of the site — like booking or logging in — don't work properly.

Except for strictly necessary cookies, all cookies will expire when you close your browser, unless you've given consent for them to remain for longer.

6. Changes to This Policy

If I make meaningful changes to the cookies this site uses, I'll update this page and note the date at the top.

7. Contact

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy, please contact Julie directly at [email protected].
